Although Saman Kesh developed a fascination to ‘visually lie’ early on, he first made some significant moves toward filmmaking when he was 18. After he decided to give up his focus on business to study at the Art Center College of Design, he went on to win SXSW Best Music Video 2010 as well as 2013, and more recently directed two striking videos for the melancholy-embracing alt-rockers Placebo. The first one was for ‘Too Many Friends’ prior to the release of their seventh studio album Loud Like Love, and the second was a new video out on 14 March for the single ‘Loud Like Love’ (additional to the alternate director videos). Similar to the first clip, the film for ‘Loud Like Love’ warns us that we need to pay attention because there’ll be a quiz at the end of the video. Narrated by American Psycho‘s Bret Easton Ellis, we’re presented with highly cinematic riddles that not only display an eye for detail on behalf of the director but ask us to have one too. Is your answer D? Then fill in your answer in the comment section below!

Saman Kesh is a filmmaker that murders robots, abuses musicians, tricks celebrities in becoming involved with his absurd goals, and creates worlds that he wishes he could live in. It’s safe to say: Saman’s going to be a fine leader of the new world. — Unhappy Client (samanftw.com)
