AfrikaBurn 2015 is on everyone’s minds – well at least on ours! So, we’re re-sharing a something that’ll ignite your pre-Burn excitement and leave you smiling from nostalgia. It’s our stunning online magazine that we created after the 2012 AfrikaBurn… a journal into the Karoo that gives visual and written insight into AfrikaBurn. No picture could ever capture the essence of the magic and mystery that takes place in Tankwa Town, Karoo… But, a 300-page high-quality online magazine – packed with photos, articles and poems – can sure go a long way. We are, once again, proud to present Show Your Burn, your forever-lasting AfrikaBurn ’12 memory book. Hope to see you at AfrikaBurn The Gift 2015. Open publication – Free publishing – More afrikaburn Memories of AfrikaBurn… priceless. In the spirit of Burners everywhere, thank you for sharing those memories with us. Photographs, art, poetry… your stories of that unforgettable time help you and others to survive the return to ‘real life’. It’s time to keep on Gifting, whether you were there or not, either to give or to receive… it makes no difference. It’s AfrikaBurn, after all. In 1968, the late John Milkovisch started using the old beer cans he saved from his afternoon drinking sessions with his wife to make the shiny metallic exterior of the Beer Can House located in Houston, Texas. He ended up using 50,000 beer cans. Cheers to that!

Artist Jeremy Mayer uses assembled typewriter parts to create swallows and as an added bonus the wings of the birds can actually move. All of the materials used to create the birds come directly from typewriters and are not glued or melted together at all.
