Otherwise it’s just a charity case. We have the ability, we must just believe we do and also, there is a limited audience at Fashion weeks, these brands, designers should make full use of bloggers, media and other avenues to spread the word about their collections. The fashion elite go to these fashion weeks and do what exactly? Smile for the cameras and attempt to look pretty, beyond that, I see them doing nothing. I am a blogger with a considerable following but I always get the feeling of being sidelined when applying for accreditation and the like, so the amount of effort I go to to create exposure for these events is directly proportional to how seriously they take me, and they should. Blogs are collectively obliterating magazines and the like in terms of numbers. So do your part and we’ll do ours, I believe is South African talent and fashion but it takes two to tango.
