The new video to Little Dragon’s single ‘Pretty Girls’ is the fourth off their acclaimed studio album Nabuma Rubberband released earlier this year. It shows a young lady being dragged off a graveyard to a beauty contest scene set in the Brazilian underground. She’s initiated into the world of white-toothed smiles, pink lip stick and shiny bright dresses — and then something creepy happens. What is this video saying about today’s beauty standards? Kasabian | 1st Single ‘Eez-eh’ Off Upcoming Album 48:13

Directed by acclaimed artist and designer Aitor Throup, the video to Kasabian‘s first single ‘Eez-eh’ off their upcoming fifth studio album is as fun as the bounce-inspiring tune. Throup’s highly conceptual approach — lots of pink and references to the running time of the song — apparently reflects the direct nature of the music. The cool cheerfulness the video exudes for sure incites anticipation for 48:13, which is — according to the band — their most straightforward and unconcealed release yet. “Less is more, you know? It’s direct. It is what it is. Just listen to it. We’ve had the confidence to lay ourselves bare. Serg has stripped it right back. It’s unbelievable,” says frontman Tom Meighan.

Inspired by famous females in history, the video features lots of diversely sexy booty to honour the different women of the world. It’s directed by Luis Cervero and features appearances by Kelly Osbourne and his wife Helen Lasichanh, but more importantly — whether you think it’s sexy or ridiculous — Pharrell sports his (in)famous hats with his standard casual smugness. The tune is of his new album G I R L and he’s about to release a new digital book today, 24 April, so stay posted to his Twitter for the news!

New Release: The Pixies | ‘Greens and Blues’

Seemingly taking a break from loud-quiet-loud, The Pixies’ new track ‘Greens and Blues’ is a mellow track more suitable to unwind to on the couch than in the mosh pit. The nostalgic fan might get teary eyed remembering Black Francis screaming ‘then god is seeeveeen’ or ‘debaseeeer’ and call the track bland, but as a new discovery the song is more than worth a couple of listens — it is a Pixies track after all. After replacing their original bassist Kim Deal with Kim Shattuck of The Muffs and then with Paz Lenchantin (she has played with Zwan, A Perfect Circle and The Entrance Band) for their 2014 tour, ‘Greens and Blues’ is the third track of their most recent release EP2 following 2013’s EP1.
